Netiquette

Dear authors or commentators,

You want to contribute a portrait, article or comment and share your ideas, opinions, and experiences with the community? We appreciate this a lot and look forward to your contributions – but please keep in mind the following guidelines:

Personal data – privacy comes first

Personal data from persons other than yourself, such as names, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, etc., may not be published in comments and articles.

Always be respectful – no insults

Having your own opinions is great. But freedom of expression also has certain limitations: we do not tolerate any discrimination or offenses, regardless of politic or religious attitudes, nationality, origin, age or gender. Remember that the recipient is a human being whose culture, language, and humor has different points of reference from your own. Remember that date formats, measurements, and idioms may not travel well. Be especially careful with sarcasm.

Stay with the topic

Your contributions are intended to draw attention towards the work, achievements, and problems of female scientists. They should stimulate the discussion and deal in the widest sense with topics about or interesting for women working in sciences. Articles covering recipes, celebrity news, the newest diet, gossip etc., do not belong here, neither do advertisements.

Copyright

Articles, pictures, and comments should be authored by you, or be clearly marked as fit for public distribution. If you’re unsure, do not do it. We are not responsible for your content. Quotations and pictures must be made clear with a reference.

Payment

Each of you has already gained experience in the field of sciences and the pros and contras of working within academia. Your expertise and your experiences are important and of interest to others! We are not able to offer payment for articles. Your reward for publishing with us: You can highlight your research and get more public visibility, you can share your experiences with fellow scientists and get feedback from the community, and you can inspire and motivate or even help other female scientists and potential future scientists.

And finally

Any comments that violate applicable laws will not be tolerated. The editor moderates the comments and articles and does so according to the rules of netiquette.

If you do not follow the netiquette, we reserve the right to not publish or delete contributions and, if necessary, to block your access to the commentary function.
